		<description>When I was in the second grade at Casar Elementary, I got in trouble.  I was not known to be a trouble maker, but I goofed up.  It all started with a fire drill.  Much like in high school, the students would walk outside and line up with their classes.  I got in line with my best friend, Alan.  I was always a tom boy and liked to punch and hit around with all the guys.  Alan was making fun of my pig tails like normal, and I made fun of his kool-aid dyed hair.  But like any tom girl would do, I had to prove I was tough.  You know, &quot;not just talk the talk, but walk the walk.&quot;  So i kicked Alan a couple good times and he picked back like always. Then I hauled off and kicked him in the ankle as hard as I could.  Alan hopped up and down but the teacher didn&#039;t see anything, so of course I thought I was safe.  Boy, was I wrong.  The third grade teacher, Mrs. Hendrick, was known for being the meanest teacher at Casar.  She went and told my assistant teacher, Mrs. Clark about me kicking innocent Alan.  As we got back to class Mrs. Clark told me she was very disappointed and turned my card.  I had never had my card turn but thats not what taught me a lesson.  When Mrs. Clark said she was disappointed my heart sank deep into my chest.  To have a teacher actually disappointed in me was awful! I was always a teacher&#039;s pet and tried my best to make them happy.  Mrs. Clark did exactly as a teacher should do.  She knew what to say to me to get me to listen.  With other students she would threaten to call parents, or silent lunch, but with me the mention of her being disappointed was all it took.  Mrs. Clark followed the rules, first offense card turn, but she also catered my scolding in a way she knew would speak to me.</description>

		<description>An ideal teacher is a true builder of the nation. He or she is fearless, sincere and earnest in the discharge of their duties towards the students and the nation as a whole. An ideal teacher is considered as an object of admiration and devotion for the students. These days, students do not like to study from harsh and unsympathetic teachers. An ideal teacher creates such a confidence in his students that they are always ready to sacrifice for the cause of their teacher. The ideal teacher is creative, insightful, informative, and encourages students to solve their problems through deductive reasoning. In my life I have had several teachers of all different types. I’ve been lucky enough to have people to teach me about life, and general living strategy, as well as traditional academic teachers that we generally associate with the word teacher. I believe I have a good understanding of what I believe to the ideal teacher. The ideal teacher is creative, insightful, informative, and encourages students to solve their problems through deductive reasoning.</description>

		<description>When I was in Third grade at Elizabeth Elementary School I got in trouble. I was sitting in class minding my own business and this boy who set behind me decided he was going to be mean to me. I was working on my multiplication and division when my head was jerked back by the boy. He had pulled my pony tail and giggled after he had done so. I whipped around and told him to stop and to not do it again because it hurt. Next thing I know is my Teacher saying my name to make me be quite. I turned around irritated and started back on my work again. Five minutes later my head went flying back again and then I heard giggles. I spun around again and told him if he did it again then I was going to hit him. I turned back around and started on my work again before the teacher could yell at me. No more than a minute later that boy jerked my hair again. I turned around punched him in the face and he went crashing to the floor. Needless to say the teacher noticed that and I was in trouble now. She sat me in the timeout desk over in the corner and then tended to the upset boy. I just sat there terrified about how much trouble I was actually in. I tried to focus off of it and started doing my math again. By the time I had finished my math my mom was on the phone with the teacher. The teacher came over to me and asked why I had hit him and I told her why and how I gave him a fair warning not to do it again. I went home that day with my sunshine moved down and a note for my mother. My teacher I believe went about my punishment the correct way because I also had lunch detention. Even though at the time I didn’t think she was being fair to me because I was punished and the boy received nothing for his actions. Well he did receive pampering from the school nurse but that’s not what I wanted him to get.</description>

		<description>My three goal before I graduate is to get into shape, pass my English class and to have to church band learn 8 new songs. This might not seem like a lot but to me it is a ton. I want to get into shape before the end of this school year that way I can set a health plan for me. This is because when I get into college I don’t want to gain the freshman fifteen or in my case possible the freshman thirty. That is why I am starting now with an exercise plan and starting on a healthy diet and I will maintain it throughout the summer. I want to pass my English class because if I do then I am allowed to graduate. I have never had problems before in a class with pulling out my A but I am not a big fan of English and I want to do well in this class. Also I am the leader of the Church Band and I want to leave them with a variety of songs that they can play I am already up to 12 but I want to add more. I like this quote because throughout my high school career I have learned that my need for specific instructions is changing.  For example, in elementary school I wanted to know every detail about an assignment and I had to be walked through a math problem.  In middle school I began to think more independently.  I had learned math, but still needed to be walked through the steps every once in a while.  In English I was good but struggled through some aspects.  Now, as a senior, I am able to take teacher indtructions and apply them to a class in hand.  Granted in English we are learning how to analyze poetry, this is difficult and I had to be walked through the step, but now it comes natural.  Math on the other hand has become much easier.  Mr. Holland will often demonstrate how a problem works and the steps to solve, but we are left to figure the mechanics of the problem out for ourselves.  A teacher teaches us to learn on our own.  They show us how to think independently and succeed as an individual.  They become more unnecessary and we become more independent.</description>

		<description>The teacher who has made the greatest impact on my life would have to be my agriculture teacher Mr. Beam. He has really impacted my life and has encouraged me over the years to become a better person and a leader. My ninth grade year was the first time I met him. I was in the Agriscience Applications class first period of my second semester in high school. My first impressions of him was wow this is going to be a crazy semester. Nevertheless the as the semester went on the more I loved his class and the more I say how he was trying help everybody. He encouraged me to become apart of the FFA even though at the beginning I was skeptical I soon loved it. I joined the parliamentary procedure team that year and I have competed in it ever since. I also tried out to be an officer of FFA and made it. I have loved FFA and I have become a confident person thanks to Mr. Beam.</description>

		<description>The teacher that has had the most impact on my life would be Luke Beam. Many students that take his class in ninth grade think that some of the ways he teaches are just not for them and that he can be too harsh on them. Well the reason that he is harsh on some students is to make them want to do better in life. Mr. Beam only wants all his to students to be leaders, he does not want them to be followers that only do what there friends do to &quot;fit in&quot;. 		<description>I read Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell.  Failing Forward&#039;s copyright date is 2000 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.  

I chose Failing Forward because I feel that that dealing with failure is a major weakness of mine.  After listening to the assignment where JohnC. Maxwell discusses his books, I realized Failing Forward was the book for me.  It addresses failure in a new light that everyone can understand.

I highly recommend for others to read this book.  Failing Forward allows readers to understand the difference between average people and successful people.  It offers great insight to the world of failure and teaches how to take failure, and the concepts learned from it, and turn it into success.</description>
